What does it look like to book a session or wedding with Rachel Nolt Photography ?

First, fill out the contact form on my website ! Once we have established what you are hoping for, I will work on giving you some dates and locations. I try to accommodate people and give several options on booking dates.

After a session, I download images to my hard drive. Depending on the time of year - it can take up to 4 weeks for a regular gallery.

A question that I most often get is “ Will you pose us or tell us what to do ? “ Definitely. Part of being a photographer is directing clients on what / how to pose. I like a mix of posed and candid !

If you are booking a wedding with me, congratulations ! After you have filled out the contact form, I will send you link to a short questionnaire that will give me an idea on your wedding day and you as a couple. Once the questionnaire is filled out ; we will talk engagement session ( if going that route ) , and then signing a contract and deposit ! Once those steps are complete, we can start planning your wedding timeline and I can give you several vendor recommendations if needed. Part of me capturing your wedding, is making sure the day runs smoothly with efficient timelines . Having a well thought out wedding day can really make or break it !

Some things to consider when picking a venue: Does it fit your budget, style and vision for your day? Example - If you like your getting ready space/ reception to have lighter images, you need a space that’s very neutral/ white- not dark. Most people don’t realize that your photographer is here to also help you during your wedding planning process if needed ! I always suggest a coordinator for a day, to help the day run smoothly and for the bride to have a relaxed day as possible :)

Frequently asked questions :

Yes, I do take pictures on weekends ! However, Sunday’s are limited so that I can spend time with my family. Saturday’s I also have weddings , most commonly from April- November.

Is it good to book far in advance ? YES. YES. YES. Especially in the Spring and Fall when everyone else likes pictures taken :) I do get booked full in the Spring & Fall and need to make sure that I can still serve my wedding couples well .

What if people get sick or there is bad weather the day of our session ? Simply reschedule :) I understand life happens and do my best to work with people. During busy seasons, I will close my booking schedule to allow room for the reschedules.

Do you mind if people ask for tips on what to wear for a session ? NOT AT ALL. I love when people ask me for advice or tips :) It shows that you care about your photos and are putting effort into them looking nice.

Some time on what to wear :

First , ladies pick out your outfit. Then , have everyone’s outfits center around you. Something that you feel beautiful and confident in. Neutrals, deep and pastels are great options. Stay clear of neons, loud prints, sneakers and work boots. Another thing I suggest is not showing so much skin, it can often be distracting in photos and can sometimes leave you feeling uncomfortable. Last, be you ! Not a super dressy person ? Wear nice jeans / dress and a casual black or white top!
